About

Neile Cooper is a stained glass artist, author, and instructor based in New Jersey whose work often features fantastical representations of natural imagery and frequently incorporates found objects and non-traditional techniques.

She has created large installations for the Makers Mark Distillery in Kentucky, and for Founding Farmers Restaurants in Pennsylvania and Virginia, as well as custom residential windows throughout the US. Her first book, “Kicking Glass, A Creative Guide to Stained Glass Craft”, was published by Bloomsbury Publishing in 2022, and she is working on a follow-up to be released in 2025-26.

Neile has taught at the Touchstone Center for Crafts (PA), Peters Valley School of Craft (NJ), and Plum Nelli Retreat (WA), and does private instruction as well. She received her BA in Graphic Design from The Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan in 1997. She received a 2021 Individual Artist Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council of the Arts.

Her artwork has been featured on Design*Sponge, Colossal, Martha Stewart, Cabin Porn (2015), HouseBeautiful, My Modern Met (April 2017), Enchanted Living Magazine, NJ Monthly Magazine (May 2020), Stained Glass Quarterly, and Where Women Create Magazine (Fall 2024).

Neile is best known for her Stained Glass Cabin in the Woods, a small sanctuary clad entirely in re-claimed window frames filled with her stained glass, but she also does large and small scale custom commissions, sells stained glass, jewelry, and patterns on Etsy, and communicates with her supporters on Patreon and Instagram.
